das Haus steht - the house is completed

... wir waren dann auch mal wieder fleißig und haben die neu hinzugekommenen Bereiche fertig gestrichen. Jetzt ist alles einmal gestrichen, inklusive 1km Lattung zur Verkleidung des Dachvorstandes.

... so we got busy over the last weekend and finished all areas which were added. Now, everything is once coated including 1km (I am going to stay metric here) of wooden boards for the roofs overhang (I would be curios to know, if this is the correct expression :-))

das Türmchen Teil 2 - the turret part 2

Das Türmchen hat nun seine endgültige Form erhalten. Was noch fehlt, sind die Giebel und ordentlich Farbe, aber...

I just learned that we don't get a tower but we get a turret :-). The turret is basically finished. The coating and the rest of the sidewalls are still missing but...

Das Dach ist nun mit einer Folie versehen. Die Form des Türmchens ist nun auch in der ersten Etage ansatzweise zu erkennen.

The roof is covered now in a insolation foil. The shape of our small tower start to develop in the first floor now.

Dachstuhl steht - roof structure finished

Der Dachstuhl ist jetzt fast komplett montiert. Es fehlt nur noch das Türmchen. :-)

Dachstuhl - Roof structure

Am Montag wurde dann nach mehrfachem Hin und Her doch noch der Dachstuhl aufgestellt. Es war abwechselnd am Regnen oder Schneestürmen. Deshalb an dieser Stelle mal ein riesiges Dankeschön an die Jungs von Helios, die tapfer weitergemacht haben.

On Monday the roof structure was assembled and attached to the framework. The weather was so awful that it was a back and forth the whole day, if the setup could take place. I would like to deeply thank those guys from Helios for the job they are doing for us. It's just great!

Streichen - Painting

Über das Wochenende waren dann wir gefragt. Wir haben das Haus mit tatkräftiger Familienhilfe von außen gestrichen. Da noch keine Fenster verbaut sind, ist uns das auch am Samstag gelungen bei nahezu perfektem Wetter.

Over the weekend we got busy. We painted the house exterior with much appreciated family support. We finished everything on Saturday, so we got lucky, because it was raining a lot on Sunday.

Holzständerwerk - Framework

Seit Mitte der letzten Woche steht nun auch das Holzständerwerk des Erdgeschosses. Nun sind die einzelnen Zimmer schon gut zu erkennen :-)

Since middle of last week the framework was set-up. Now, it is not just a big area anymore. It is getting a house step by step :-)

Die Wände werden vorbereitet - the walls are being prepared

Damit wir später auch richtige Wände haben, wurde heute das Ständerwerk für die Isolierung gesetzt. Des Weiteren haben die Bohlen von innen noch OSB-Platten bekommen, damit zukünftig nicht so durchpfeift :-)
Die Bauherren waren heute auch nicht ganz faul. Wir haben mal die Seite mit Lasur gestrichen. Schönes Gefühl die eigenen vier Wände zu streichen. Jetzt sieht's auch schon wie ein Holzhaus aus.

To get a good insulation later on, the walls receive a frame work. In addition the planks got a second layer of wook from inside, so that it won't be to windy in the house.
Today, the two of us were busy as well. We painted the first side of the house with a specific glaze. Now, it already starts to look like a wooden house :-)

... die sind echt schnell - ... the speed is amazing

Die Geschwindigkeit des Aufbauens ist echt beeindruckend. Als wir heute abend noch mal schauten, stand das Erdgeschoss!!!. Wir können also ab jetzt anfangen, das Haus zu streichen. Jetzt nimmt das Ganze auch schon Formen an. Es ist ein super Gefühl, durch seine eigenen vier Wände zu laufen - auch wenn Paletten rumstehen :-)

The speed of the assembly is quite amazing. When we stopped by tonight, they already finished the ground floor. From now on, we can start painting the house from outside. The shape is already quite clear and it is a good feeling to walk through your own four walls :-)

das Holz ist da - the planks arrived

Die Bohlen sind Anfang der dritten Woche gekommen. Als ich Mittags eine kurze Visite machte, war ich überrascht, bereits einen solchen Fortschritt zu sehen. Die erste Bohle war bereits mit der Bodenplatte verschraubt und das "Kartenhaus"-Spielchen hatte begonnen.

The planks arrived beginning of week 3. When I paid tribute to my curiosity during my lunch I got surprised by the extend of progress they already made. The "weather" plank was already screwed to the bottom plate and the stacking continued.

Bodenplatte Teil 2 - Bottom plate part 2

Die Bodenplatte war echt schnell fertig, obwohl das Wetter nicht so wollte. Die Bolzen dienen als Befestigung für die erste Bohle des Hauses. Bisher läuft's echt gut. Mit der erstellten Bodenplatte haben wir dann die zweite Woche hinter uns.



So far, everything is going smoothly. The bottom plate was finished in time although the weather was really rainy this week. The bolts are used to fix the first layer of wood. This was the status at the end of week 2.

Die Baustelle wächst :-). Heute haben die Mitarbeiter von Futura angefangen, die Bodenplatte zu legen. Die Außenkontur des Hauses ist auch schon klar erkennbar. Bisher sieht das alles etwas klein aus (O-Ton von frauke).

The construction grows :-). Today Futura (supplier) started to set up the bottom plate. The house surroundings are allready recognizable. Until now everything looks kind of small, we'll see how that goes on.

Ein Sandkasten für die Großen ...

Die erste Woche ist nun um und unser Grundstück wurde mit unzähligen LKW-Ladungen Sand befüllt. Außerdem haben wir das Grundstück eingemessen, so dass das Häuschen auch an die richtige Stelle gestellt wird :-)

We basically spend the first week with filling the land. Therefore we had countless Trucks pouring sand all over the place. The ground is also marked, to put the bottom plate to its correct position :-)
